We are not relying on players to buy and install and host game servers in order to connect to and enjoy the game. Will I be able to host or rent my own private server? Yes, not only that - you'll be able to rent a game server from inside the user interface without leaving the game. You will be able to choose server settings, configure things like public or private, password protection, allocate certain number of slots for your friends and clan members, etc. What is limit of players per server? When renting a server you'll be able to choose between a predefined number of player slots. Expected down time is 1 hour. New additions PunkBuster Anti-Cheat Punkbuster is required to play the game now. When you first run the game after the patch you will be prompted to install Punkbuster; this may require administrator access to install. If for some reason Punkbuster fails to install you can manually install it by navigating to The War Z game directory (Default: "C:\Users\user_name\Documents\The War Z" and then to the pb directory where you will find "pbsvc_zombie.exe". Run pbsvc_zombie.exe to manually install Punkbuster [*]Added the low setting back to "Lighting Quality" [*]Improved the material quality of some items in the game world. [*]Updated Zombie AI; zombies should no longer walk through buildings. [*]Players are now required to be in a clan for at least a week before they can donate to the clan. Bug Fixes Updated the FN M240 Mag description with the proper amount of bullets; the description now lists 10 bullets. While using scope with NVG enabled you will now see a crosshair. This is the best thing they could have done to improve the game. Now you can go into a server pvp and have a fair fight against other players. Froggy86 Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Yeah I agree... the entire community knows the issues surrounding this game and cheats...yet these people still continue to download cheats and use them.......it's a brutal cycle. hopefully all these idiots get banned and we get a clean slate for the community to build on what was once a great game! PB for WarZ is probably the only thing that may save the game. You can't go anywhere without finding a hacker most of the time. It is pretty blatant when they no-clip through the walls in every server and just get a new account and there is practically nothing WarZ does about it. Why would they, its just another account for money to be bought from them. Fairfight is a joke of an anti-cheat that they said would help and bans guys that do not hack, but camp and get kills without dying. Seems like some have stayed away since PB was instituted last night. Only 62 Fairfight bans listed in last 24 hours compared to 194 bans total on June 4th....info from https://twitter.com/warzanticheat Most are only buying time until the DayZ Stand Alone comes out. Then WarZ may become just as bad of a joke of a game like HOMEFRONT did. A great game HOMEFRONT was until they stopped supporting it and hackers took over. WarZ is still in the Alpha process if I recall. if they are selling it, it ain't an alpha. idk what anyone says yes and its full of bugs yes, because it is an alpha. This change has come about primarily as a result of some confusion and trademark issues with a similarly titled property. While we were reluctant to rename the game so long after launch, especially with nearly 1 million registered players, it was ultimately decided to be in the best interest of our existing community as well as future players in order to eliminate confusion.
