it's because punkbuster doe's not know what os you are using. ie xp/vista/windows 7 and so on.
i get this in cod2 while using windows 7 beta.

i hope this can be sorted as i want all my games to play.
cod/waw and cod4 work fine by the way.

can an admin say whether evanbalance are doing anything about this minor issue.

What operating system are you running?

And Wraith, I believe Evenbalance said they aren't going to do anything about it. Windows 7 is a beta, so I doubt they will add compatibility for it before the final product is released.

Strange that it works for some games and not others, though.

Correct - Evenbalance have stated that there will be no Windows 7 support until it's release - so if you are running the Beta or soon to be released RC, then PB will not work.

I just ran the Windows Update on my XP OS and now get an "Unknown Windows API Function [131136]" error while playing COD WAW. I hope they come out witha fix for that, both should be fully supported...

XP/Vista are both fully supported, so something else must be causing this.

Do you run anything on the background? Steam perhaps?

I recommend you shut down everything running on the background, try again, and see if you still get kicked.
