We as a squad are very new to hosting / playing Far Cry 2, however on two occasions two squad members swear they have seen someone either vanish into the terrain or appear out of it.

First time this was observed, I can't be absolutely positive that PB was running. The latest incident was tonight on a Ranked Server with PB running and it was the host who was "questionable".

Ping times to this particular server were good, so it can't be lag.

Is this a known cheat?

Sounds more like a glitch to me, but I don't play Far Cry so I'd wait for some more opinions.

FYI: We don't ban for those, as those are solely exploits (bugs) from the game Dev's and nothing that is hacked into the game code and not supported by EB.

I will suggest you try to inform your friends and try to make to take some screenshots, maybe demo (FC2 support demo now?) and get that posted at FC2 official site for the Dev's to get sorted.
