Squad is an online, team-based military themed first-person-shooter where high levels of teamwork and communication are crucial to success.

Built from the ground up in the Unreal Engine 4, Squad pits teams of up to 50 players against each other in white knuckle modern day combined-arms combat scenarios, with both conventional and unconventional forces.

The players dictate how the scenarios unfold with base-building and interactive environments, intuitive squad command and management tools and large-scale warfare where strategy and leadership are just as important as a quick trigger finger.

http://joinsquad.com/readArticle?articleId=24

The Squad development team is excited to announce that within the next 7 days we will be launching our Kickstarter Campaign!

This will be your opportunity to become a Founding Member of Squad and have an impact on the success of this project.

We have been very overwhelmed to date by the level of excitement and passion people have shown for the project and we hope everyone is ready to take this next giant step with us. It is going to take a lot of energy and we are relying on you guys to help us through this campaign.

If you ever wanted to scream, shout or generally be annoying about how much you want to see Squad as a finished game, now is the time. Please help us by spreading the word through all your various media channels and keep them linked back to our forums so we can help amplify their effectiveness.

For us this is the first chance to really bring this thing to life and possibly be given the opportunity to dedicate ourselves full time to making this Squad project a reality.
And just to get you guys warmed up, here are a list of our base donor tiers and approx how much you can expect them to cost. (all costs in USD)

We want to let everyone know that we're immensely encouraged by the way the Closed Alpha has launched and the reception it has received from the community and all our backers (old and new!).

Developer's are running a poll in forums about which anti-cheat system to use VAC or FF. I suggested they look into PB. It is shocking to see how many Server Admins and players bashed PB as junk. When they truly dont understand the process of game developers providing PB all the files it needs to do it's job.And admins keeping their servers up to date. The PBbans Staff has always taken care of our servers and problems with great dedication. For that I will aways defend you.

http://www.pcgamer.com/50-vs-50-military-fps-squad-heads-to-early-access-next-month/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=pcgfb

Squad, the Kickstarted 50v50 tactical team shooter from the creators of Battlefield 2's Project Reality mod, is coming to Steam Early Access on December 15.

The Early Access release will contain two new maps, a big dusty 4km x 4km one "based on a real world location in Afghanistan", and a smaller close-combat map for the "rehabilitation" of "gamers who are unaccustomed to proper tactical squad based CQB gaming".

There will be four game modes and four factions, including two new ones: Russia Ground Forces and irregular Militia. Game modes include Advance and Secure, which combines objective capture with base building and supply; Conquest, which pits irregular forces against conventional military outfits; Insurgency, which tasks mechanised units with the discovery and destruction of insurgent weapon caches; and Territory Control, which has you capturing space "one square meter at a time".

Squad Early Access will cost $39.99 at launch, but if you're already sold you can get the game $9.99 cheaper on the Squad pre-purchase page. There's certainly a gap for a serious military multiplayer for those that have bounced off Arma, and it's made in Unreal Engine 4, which you may or may not be able to tell from the screenshots below.

Wasn't there a game that solely ran FF as it's "anti-cheat" and was swamped by hackers so they added punkbuster?

You don't have to worry about Fairfight as they will not be using it:

No worries Gents Fairfight is no longer being considered.

They really didint match our business.

They are using Easy Anti-Cheat

http://www.easyanticheat.net/

I never knew to use fairfight in a game that servers must rent a server from gameblocks as a provider. Feels a bit shady since it's owned by i3d and myinternetservices (server providers)

We have considered the various implications, and have decided that we would like to come to the community with our two current options, when it comes to choosing what type of server you will be hosting.

Option 1: Fairfight protected. VAC protected. Vanilla WITHOUT mods (mods still possible, just no fairfight on them). Protection is limited to Fairfights/Gameblocks server rental as a provider.

Option 2: VAC protected. Vanilla or WITH Mods. Nearly unlimited choice of server providers. We continue to look into other client side anti-cheats.

For option 1, we are concerned that many of the server hosts in the community will not be willing to rent a GameBlocks/FairFight server in addition to what they already run, which may end up in FairFight not actually being utilized a significant amount.

For option 2, with client-side only hacking protection from VAC, we could be potentially exposing the game to a great deal more risk of hacking, given the competitive nature of our game.

Well I can tell you that we are just now experiencing hacking something that we weren't but I think we need to thank Steam for that. I hope that the admins get their servers streaming with PBBBANS and get punkbuster in. Don't know if that could happen thou.

Someone hates PB....

The proliferation of aimbotters on Squad was certainly evidential during the first 5 months from the date of the alpha release. You may recall the grenade launcher with unlimited ammo and fired out 30 or so grenades 5 seconds. However, EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) analysis is rather good at preventing aimbot users. One of the main aimbot providers, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, has since April /May 2016 struggled to recode an aimbot that is undetectable. For 2/3 of 2016 the Squad aimbot on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ status has been either ‘down’ or ‘updating’ for long periods of time. Most recently down since November with no ETA of a finalised recode. Their struggling.

There are different methods of analysis for which I wont go into, however some are overlooked by the likes of Punkbuster and Fairfight (both utterly terrible). As for EAC they certainly are hitting back at the companies who financially benefit from purchasers of aimbots. If detectable then its not viable.

The read the comments in the same thread. LOL
