I bought a new computer with windows vista. I was able to play 1942 after I loaded it, but was getting a error during play, something about pb***.dll any I went to evenbalance and updated my punkbuster. After that I have not been able to log onto servers getting an error message Service Abnormality. I have tried disabling my virus scanner, I even tried left clicking bf1942 icon and making it adminstrator, I have even ran the maintence thing in the install/unistall. What can I do besides get rid of windows vista, which I will do after Christmas and have the extra $ for windows xp or 2000. Till then can someone help?

I would suggest you try a reinstall of PunkBuster. Perhaps when you updated something went wrong.
