IW's own FourZeroTwo has commented that Modern Warfare 2 will not have dedicated servers or PunkBuster.

Our growth over the last year has far exceeded all expectations. This has propelled PBBans to the top as the largest anti-cheat site in the world supporting PunkBuster. We would like to personally thank all of our faithful supporters and always welcome your donations and suggestions. Effective immediately, we are no longer banning ET guids. The reason being innocent players are falling victim to GUID spoofing and being falsely banned by other players.

We have seen many spoofed GUIDs over the last few days which will be removed shortly. All prior bans will remain on the MBi.

However this does not mean streaming servers will be unprotected. All of the Hub scanning features are still active for ET. The only difference is when violations are found the player is kicked but not added to the MBi.

Update
EvenBalance has updated the PB client and server to prevent GUID spoofing however it only works if pb_sv_guidrelax is set to 0 and pb_sv_guidauth is set to 1. Therefore we can not resume banning as spoofing is still possible.

Update 2
We have coded the Hub to check if a GUID is verified and if so it will be banned when bannable violations are raised. We have achieved many things over the past five years. In the beginning, we used the Repository method of streaming and held on to a small group of dedicated streaming admin averaging around 200 streaming servers. After a few years and many personnel changes, the Hub was born and changed PBBans.com and the anti-cheat community forever. No longer would we be considered as "the other" anti-cheat site.

As of today, we are the first and only PunkBuster related anti-cheat site to have over 7,000 servers configured to stream. We also currently have 6,935 groups with streaming accounts and growing an average of 15 accounts per day. Our live Hub system offers those that choose to stream with us, the ability to begin streaming immediately after account validation. The bans system is extremely flexible and provides the server admin many different methods to protect their servers.

We look forward to what the next five years may hold and are very thankful for everyone's continued support of PBBans.com. In response to the recent posts on other sites by former SGAs and a PsB Staff member, I would like to make a few comments. Over the past 5 years, PBBans has been through numerous changes and faced far too many drama fests. The ultimate goal of PBBans is to provide our supporters and anti-cheat community the best tools available to keep their servers clean.

The Staff at PBBans are focused on current issues and future system upgrades/improvements. We do not continue to live in the past nor will we be dragged into another flame war. The accusations of my alleged past actions from over 5 years ago have long since been laid to rest. There is no valid proof of what transpired during that time and the slanderous comments do nothing but validate the fact that this is merely a he said/they said rant. These alleged actions have nothing to do with PBBans as it is today. I have no reason to lie to anyone and if any SGA/League Admin is interested in hearing more about the past, I will be more than happy to explain it to you offline.

Everyone is entitled to formulate their own opinion of me or PBBans as a whole. I am 42 years old, married, a father of six children, and a grandfather to a beautiful girl born in August. I am currently on Active Duty in the United States Air Force and have been in the military for nearly 23 years. I have lived overseas in England and Germany and in the United States in Oklahoma and Arkansas. My current position in the Air Force as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer is operating a Network Support Help Desk supporting over 6500 personnel. I uphold the highest of integrity and am always given the greatest of respect by my peers, friends, family, and of course my supporters.

PBBans is around to keep "game" servers clean and is operated solely by volunteer staff. We all have lives outside of PBBans and to quote a supporter "All of this over a computer game?"

In closing, I want to personally thank all of the folks who have stood by us over the years and look forward to having you a part of our community for the years to come. Without you, PBBans may have closed its doors years ago.

On Friday, Sept 26, 2008 around 3PM EST our servers will be offline for a brief period to move them to a bigger cabinet in preperation for our newest server (which arrived today). During this outage all PBBans services will be offline.

We plan to have our new server operational by the end of the weekend or early next week providing no issues occur.

Update #1
Servers moved ahead of schedule and seem to be working fine. All services are back online and the new server is connected and being configured.

Update #2
Main database is now running on the new server. MPI db will be rebuilt in the next few days.

Update #3
