K-Boom, not dissing you, but I hope all the rest of the EA/DICE BF-series fans actually put their money where their mouth is. It didn't happen with MW2, and a lot of COD-fans that said they wouldn't buy it, still did so, admitted to it later.
If you're going to speak, speak with the wallet, not an internet voice, first, and then speak later with the internet voice, and speak with the wallet at the same time.
If EA/DICE take a hit on sales, they'll listen.
Same would have happened with IW/Activision if all of those cheese-dicks that posted in the poll/crap=BS thread had not bucked up for the game and they'd lost money to crap-dev on it and not wanting to give PC-gamers what they wanted, maybe, but at least it would have been known, and looked at.
If BF-series fans buy this game, and don't care about anti-cheat, and GGC is still gonna stream this game regardless of it's ability to do more than stream PB-based bans into a ban-list.(Yes you can stream, no, it won't add to your anti-cheat abilities, the fine-print GGC did not include) Without the ability to trouble-shoot, and actually work the development ends of things, streaming is worthless to begin with. Who cares if you can stream? Streaming without dev is nothing, useless, and not gonna add to a damned thing, anywhere, you'll just get streamed information about the things pb itself detects and waste actual server band-width for no reason at all.
Can't define MD5 checks without dev, can't define what's a server file MD5 from a fictional one, for example. Most cheats get installed in the game directory, and if you can't check them vs server files, no such checks can legitimately be added. Streaming a game becomes a waste of bandwidth for any anti-cheat community unless they're just ban-happy and want numbers.
I do like GGC, really, but I can't agree with their stance on this new game. I would say the same for any anti-cheat site that wants to run an integral anti-cheat stance on a new game, including PBBans, if we were to choose to stream it, without the ability to do so properly.
What EA/Dice have done with BF-series games is effectively make themselves naked to cheaters, and cut themselves off from any help they could have gotten from others who were willing to help, and sadly, all for the sake of their stupid ranking system.
I hope they enjoy the new game, once it's hacked, and turns into the paranoia-fest that the previous games have.
You'll notice that players of games such as COD4 and any other engine don't have quite the same..... We have demo's, and the ability to work with a CONSOLE and other tools available to us because the ranking system, if there is one, is client-sided only, and not related to the game in any other way. Ranking was stupid to begin with.
My take on it, perhaps I was a bit blunt, and sorry if I offended anyone. Just my take on the issue. I did not mean to offend BF-series fans, at all. I am perhaps one to simply call what I see, and perhaps that's why I stuck with Q3-engine games.
