GUID Banned, No hacks. Original DVD

Hello gamers,

Yesterday I reinstalled COD4 as the DVD box has been laying on my desk for ages. I bought the game in 2008 original from a shop and have the reciept and original DVD cover and key etc. I noticed after updating PB and the game i was still getting kicked off, which was very weird.

I then came to the conclusion that my PB GUID has been banned from serveral servers, wondering how i started a search which led me to this link.

EDIT: I do not even live in Germany, I live in the Netherlansd and the game is purchased in the Netherlands!

Could someone tell me how another player could have gotten the same GUID as me? Is the GUID based on the CD key?


What should i do? I wish to play the game like it was payed for.

There is nothing you can do. Your CD-Key is leaked. You will have to buy a new game. New CD-Key = New PB GUID.

You may also want to consider doing a virus scan of your pc because there might be a key logger on your system.

So you want to tell me that a €60,- game is now useless because somebody used a generator that luckily for him produced my key?
I have the original, reciept, creditcard details and everything. I do not live in Germany. Can I not contact Activision to get a new key?

By the way, my computer is and has been clean all the time. I check weekly (IT specialist)

No, the likely hood of your CD being created by a true key gen is highly unlikely. What is far more likely is that at some point in time, your system has been infected with malware that has retrieved the CD key from your registry and was then either sold or used by a cheat.

OP you need to reformat your HDD and do a fresh install of your OS and programs

change passwords on all your accounts

your info is in the wild

I do feel for you here - I have a similar situation where I purchsed a 2nd hand copy in good faith - the previous user downlaoded a hack then a must of been banned - sold me the disc (me buying in good faith), with bans on many servers - found a server I liked - OK for 9 months then this month banned me - I purchased a new Disc thinking OK - Ban still stood - appealed to PB as could prove both discs were purhased by me AFTER the ban date, but |PB have denied my appeal - Unbelievable. I know this doesnt help you but atleast you know you are not alone with the injustice of it! Will let you know if I find away to lift theban - good luck

your case that game disc has been sold more times than anyone can count.

second hand is almost always a burnt (banned) key

how do you expect the ban to be lifted just because you were too cheap to buy a legit copy?

your "new/legit" copy is not banned if it is "new/legit"

Based on the after a ban statement I would more likely think that someone has been downloading "skill". Looks like to me that what ever raised the ban in the first place was still present after the new game was bought and installed.

Please Help! I am 28 years old, and already five years old I play COD4 use the original CD-KEY with GUID 45c5198e please help me, the cd key I got from a friend from my clan, so that shortly before the 10 minutes I learned that my guid banned. Is there some possibility that the global PB ban somehow removed from my GUID, and not to change my cd key. In my country, the original key is purchased and is very expensive. I'm no chiter, I'm a married man and you can check on vvvvvv.gamenet.hr Let me mention my guid a bann only to streaming servers.

Ok. All this is OK, but tell me if they can find out how and who abused the guid?
I do certainly not abused!
As for the original, in my country costs 100 euros. As for my suffering, I receive 190 euro salary, and the apartment where she lives with her husband pay 130 euros a month, so this will go a little harder than you think.

The CD-Key has been used in over 5 countries. It is a leaked key and that could possibly be the reason why EB globally banned it.

Make sure you do not have and virus', trojans or keyloggers as they steal game info.

100 percent sure that I have no viruses, I reinstall Windows before 5 days, and what more I have a good anti-virus, it is strictly take care not even a woman wouldnt give to go on face book :-)! Joking aside, the day before I play on the server where I play CTF always, you can check the gamenet.hr
And just as usual, gathered a team of TS3 and start playing CTF and when entering the COD4 server I only write disconekt server, to my friend on the announcement that the global bann

when did you purchase the game?

that GUID was first seen Dec 17, 2007 at 3:41 pm on a streaming server

there have been over 400 aliases and over 500 IPs with a handful of different countries

Believe it or not, because the game is very expensive in my country, the game I bought on the street pirate, and the original cd key gave me a friend who is a sponsor of my clan and my clan who gave two servers and two servers COD2 COD4

Office is, I know that the injury caused cd key.
But talking about how it did not do me!
Yes I have any chance misused key, the bann list to find my name, I think I agree with it, and by chance this cd key was on the CB.
So it is not clear that a fool would destroy the original cd key, it should be banned from the computer until further notice, until the end of life must not play any online game!
