Linux servers normally come with 2 pb folders, one is hidden and the other is not.
The default pbsv.cfg that is loaded by default is normally found in the hidden pb folder and that is the one preceded by a .

i.e. .callofduty5/pb

Is this a hosted server or one you are trying to setup on a linux box?

How do you start the server?

I guess what I'm driving at is:

If your are renting from a gsp then they should be able to help you.

If you are renting a linux box and running a game server it's a little different. What kind of access do you have... just ftp?

Do you shell access?

Nevermind.... I see the server is from e-frag.com.

Have you asked them for help?

I have a couple of cod4 servers from stealthservers running on linux and setting them up with their game panel is not much different then a windows based gsp.

In the picture of the directory there is no pbsvuser.cfg while I'm not 100% sure I think that just comes with a standard pb install.... maybe create that first and see what happens.

Other then that if they can't help you move on... punkbuster is standard fare I don't understand that customer service really.

Same place as your pbsv.cfg I would copy that file and rename to pbsvuser.cfg see what happens.

I hope someone here as experience with e-frag.com

I tryed that, also file not found. i think it something with the pb homepath.

If i type this "pb_sv_load pbsvuser.cfg" in my ingame console i get this error "Server file not found: pbsvuser.cfg" same as "pbsv.cfg"

Yes i restarted pb first

Update: i just deleted my pb folder on my server.

Ingame typed "pb_sv_ver" console reports: Server: punkbuster Server (v1.723 | a1409 c2. 176) enabled.

How can he enable pb if there is no pb folder?

I also see from the pic you posted earlier that you are in the directory /pb.

The pb directory should be under the game directory /codww/pb

Something like that.

While on the server, bring down the console and type;
/rcon pb_sv_homepath ( /rcon = your rcon password .. do not forget the / )
and let the server tell you were the pb directory is located.

or

Install HLSW by following this guide;
http://www.pbbans.com/forums/index.php?aut...amp;showfile=25

Type into HLSW pb_sv_homepath and the server will tell you were your pb directory is located.

According to HLSW your server has PB running, the problem you have is locating exactly were from.

Typing /rcon pb_sv_writecfg creates a pbsv.cfg

already done that, it writes the .cfg but when i go look in ftp its not there.

my homepath "Server: Home Path is /home/gameserv/.codwaw/pb/"
so i created ".codwaw/pb/" in the root. and copied the other pb folder in this one, thats right or not?
