difference between a ban on pbbans and a global PB ban

It's my understanding that pbbans takes the punkbuster ban command from the punkbuster stream, issues the ban and then publishes it and shares it to all other pbbans connected servers. I know MD5 and PBSS are pbbans specific -- other anti-cheat sites do similar but I'm talking pbbans.

Also, it's my understanding that when punkbuster detects a cheat and issues a ban on a server that doesn't stream to pbbans that is what is called a global punkbuster ban.

Aside from MD5 and PBSS bans issued by pbbans can someone who was busted with aimbot, game hack, etc on a pbbans streaming server still play on servers that do not stream to pbbans? I saw a guy the otehr day that was obviously cheating. I looked him up on another ac site I am a member of and it showed him with an aimbot violation from a month ago. I asked in chat how he was able to play and someone said it was because that server didn't stream pbbans. It threw my whole understanding of pbbans in to a loop.

Thanks

If a pbguid appears on the PBBans ban list, that pbguid is banned from every server that uses the PBBans ban list.
So a player whose pbguid appears on the PBBans ban list can still find PB enabled servers to play on because not every server admin uses the PBBans ban list.

Any cheat related violation that is raised directly by PunkBuster™ software, as per this list;

#50000s - Aimbot
#60000s - Wallhack
#70000s - Multihack
#80000s - Gamehack
#90000s - 'Cheat' Video Drivers
#100000s - Speedhack
#110000s - Autofire
#120000s - Game Hook
#130000s - Attempted PunkBuster Hack

is added automatically to the PBBans MBI.

PBBans will also issue bans were applicable, for cheat related MD5 scans, cheat related cvars, demo's, PB screenshots and cheat file matches.

If a pbguid is globally banned by Even Balance, that pbguid is banned from every PB enabled server of that particular game genre.
Example:
if a BF4 pbguid is globally banned by EB, that particular pbguid is banned from every BF4 PB enabled server and the player will not have any PB enabled servers to play on

OK, Fozzer. I thought the pbbans bans (minus the demos and pbss bans) were the same as a PB global ban because you were merely taking the PB kick/ban from the PB logs and publishing it for all to see. I think I know what you are doing. PB kicks you first (followed by a ban if you do it again??), you take that and turn it in to a ban on pbbans network.

Thanks

Moral of the story, play on pbbans streaming servers.

I guess that's also why I see "enforcing prior ban" on pbbans streaming servers. Someone busted on a pbbans server was trying to rejoin a pbbans server.

p.s. Is the only way to search the MBi for a player's history is by being a server admin? I'm not a server admin but I like looking up people I think are cheating because a lot of the BF3 servers I play on have no admins on them any more (damn you BF4). I use another site for the player history but I like this site a lot. It seems bigger than the other sites.

You have to remember that the default "punishment" for raising an EB cheat violation is a 2 minute kick

If that cheat violation is raised on a PBBans protected server, the pbguid that raised the kick is placed on the PBBans ban list.

EB do issue a lot more global bans than what they used to a few years ago, but the majority of pbguids that raise an EB cheat violation are still only kicked for 2 minutes.

Unfortunately we do not have unlimited resources and we rely on donations to pay our way so we have to limit access levels to our tools and services.

Show that you truly support the anti cheat ethos by actively streaming servers and you get access to all we have to offer.

Your best path would be to join a group that streams their servers and get yourself added to their team account as an extra admin :)

  • 1 month later...

The above guy is banned Globally by evenbalance, so will he be able to join- 1) Servers streaming to PBB 2) Servers not-streaming to PBB

Suppose I need to share somewhere the proof that a guy is banned, then I submit his MBI or uMBI link(eg- http://www.pbbans.com/mbi-viewban-010a61eb-vb366284.html)
But how to share the ban link(URL) in case of Global Bans like above image!
Where can I find the ban list of evenbalance!

That is old information you have posted ... the guy is not banned by anyone and I have removed your image containing his full pbguid.

The player did raise a cheat violation (Violation (GAMEHACK) #81567) on June 21, 2014 which was later declared a false positive by Even Balance.

http://www.pbbans.com/forums/viol-81567-bans-removed-bf3-t189828.html

Even Balance do not publish their global ban list.

Players in receipt of a global ban, issued by EB, can not join any pb enabled server regardless if it is streaming or not.
