Hi there,
I am an admin on the Gamezone servers and there has been a bit of talk about a player that is taking impossible shots through smoke on our Openwarfare Tactical server.
I checked the logs and I see that his d3d9.dll file size is totally different to the rest of the players.
eg.My dx C:\Windows\system32\d3d9.dll size=1788416
I also found this one on another player.
My dx C:\Windows\system32\d3d9.dll size=1788928
There are two different file sizes that I can see and they are:
My dx C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d9.dll size=1689088
My dx C:\Windows\system32\d3d9.dll size=1826304
I know that there are mods out there that changes the way that DirectX renders certain things and changes the transparnecy of objects. This is the reason why I am posting this here.
Is the file size differences normal and if they are why the size differences?

different OS versions (xp sp1-3, vista, w7, not to mention w2k) and DirectX versions (minor updates as well DX9 vs DX10 plus bugfixes for certain games) will cause this,
e.g. d3d9.dll size=1826304
