Crysis 2 Maximum Edition

I can't even try it. "MyCrysis" website is not letting me register. Must be overload. Why the F*K wouldn't you make sure your site can handle the increased traffic when you release something like this? It's not like Crytek is some low budget indie studio. Anyway, if aim assist is in the game, I'm not even interested. Speaking of indie games, I'll keep waiting for a new one from one of them. Let EA and Craptivision have the customers they obviously seek to please.

Gameplay is not bad but the restrictions / lack of customization that's common to many direct console ports show like a sore thumb.

If you have more customization and CVAR tweaks then it may be a fun game. I can't even play it because of the console FOV and excessive motion blur.

Another post from the devs:

On the topic of "console ports", please note that this demo does not contain the full list of PC-specific features that will be in the retail version.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=21050856&postcount=39

This does leave me with a question, why would a developer release a demo so close to the release date of the game and not include all the features? :scratchchin:

It makes more sense to me to include as much as possible to target the audience you're trying to sell to.

Yes I've just been reading that post and he took the words right out of my mouth with this

seems mighty suspicious to release a demo that is only so lacking in features that it discourages me and droves of other pc players from pre-ordering, especially so close to release date. if it were a "beta" released months ago with feedback built in or requested, we might look around the obvious portiness

I'm not buying the game anyway but I'm glad someone has asked that question.

Sneaky, I like it! :D

I'll log in and give you rep for that post.

I've been having a look at more posts too and came across this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNIZXkacRAU

That's not good considering where the crosshairs are aiming.

According to the devs the aim assist can be turned off in the PC version but I did read 1 post that I thought was very good, a post made by the dev:

Auto Aim

For those of you concerned about auto aim in the PC version, please note this functionality is for control pads only (the PC version supports 360 control pads) and will not affect keyboard + mouse!

This reply from another player and he does have a point:

Anything that benefits one group of players over the other has no place in a competitive multiplayer game.

Just because Player A is an idiot and is playing a FPS with a gamepad doesn't mean he should get help aiming. In any other self respecting online shooter using something like "Aim Assist" would get you banned for cheating.

Perhaps I am wrong, maybe CryTek has found some way to make it perfectly balanced and it gives gamepad users no advantage what so over, if they have they sure as hell arn't explaining it. Based upon the vague statements made here (and other sites) in regards to Aim Assist it just sounds like official aimbot. If it isn't then provide us with a detailed explanation on how it works and how it doesn't provide them with benefits against Keyboard/Mouse players.

Uninstalled. Too many other options on the horizon for games. No need for aggravation and screwing around with another turd. We know where this game is headed already. They have taken another PC game and turned it into an Xbox game. Period. They can say all they want about the "PC features", but the proof isn't there. It's the same old EA stuff and another MoH in the making. None for me, thanks.

On March 25 released the full version of Crysis 2, but without support for DirectX 11. Instead, developers are planning to introduce the enhanced graphics in a patch that released "some time after" the game appeared in stores.

In practice this means that users with the latest generation graphics card has to make do with the six year old DirectX 9, just like the console players.

Nice find, I've just seen that go up on the Steam forums too. I notice the dev has *ahem* forgotten to tell the 'potential' buyers or they'll make a post stating that the information was about to be released before the game hits the stores.

A friend of mine is interested in this game and I've already said to him to check the forums for info before he hands over the cash.

Well that sucks to hear... guess I should've checked here before wasting time/bandwidth downloading the game. Guess I'll try it out anyways since im somewhat close to being done downloading it.

Maybe the single player will be good :P. I enjoyed the original campaign for the most part.

Well after some cvar tweaking the game runs much better, reduced the white wash / motionblur and increased fov

For creating private games aka listen servers.

More I play and see the more I see stuff copied from CoD4 / MW2. And it's not just a few things either. Guess if you can't beat em, copy them :P
