I am getting continuous lag while playing ET every time I visit any server not just one in particular. As soon as I join any server I get about a half second lag every 2 seconds. I have Seen that it takes anywhere from 2-3 minutes for it to stop but in about 15 mins it comes back again. In my lag-o-meter you can see blank spots where it shows the lag. This is quite annoying as it makes it impossible to play the game while in combat.

Here is a screenshot for your convenience:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seeing as this issue is prevalent for you on all servers points to a crap isp.
I will assume you have DSL ATT based on a quick IP check.
The "speediest" package that ATT offer is rubbish for $35

Downstream Speed: Up to 6.0 Mbps
Upstream Speed: Up to 768 Kbps

Key words = up to.
That means it can be a lot less :P

Can you recommend a new ISP, with the same or lower budget of $35 :P

I have the same problem. Try and modify your configuration file. It won't completely make it go away, but it help it significantly. I barely notice it anymore.

If you lived in the UK I could point you in the right direction :P
As long as your prepared to sit on your hands and put up with a rubbish ISP, the problems you are getting re lag will persist

@ iChaos
If you have some specific cfg changes that will help aleviate but not eradicate 1Flash's lag issues, feel free to share :)

Well I'm not too sure about using my specific config, because it's really fit for my computer. But I made it using this site:

Experiment with that a little bit. The first few might not work well, but you should eventually be able to get one to improve your lag issue.

From lagometer it seems client side ping problem. It might happen due to your wifi or internet sharing or packet loss.

I would suggest to stop all applications that uses the internet, such as Internet browsers, downloads, ICQ, Teamspeak, skype ect. Disable anti virus and firewall while playing ET.

Adjust your maxpackets or rate. Also, try to lower your graphics settings and see how it goes.

For packetloss you can type \showdrop 1 in console and it will show you if you are dropping packets or not.
