I cannot set my status anymore. I've set it once, and it will no longer let me do it again..

Refreshing the page usually fixes that message. It's caused by the session id being expired.

It happens on first page load because you don't have the session id in a cookie (it's your first page load and session was either expired or not set), and that's normal.
