every time I try search for a player or ip address for bf2 in MPI I get the error "408 Request Timeout......
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'."

Please advise as this is very frustrating, used to work perfect but now I have to open about 5 tabs and try non stop on all until one eventually works

Advice most appreciated

I was told that the timeout limit is set by their new host, ethproxy, to stop the ddos attacks and what I understand themselves, PBBans, can't change it.

Try searching by player's GUID rather than by IP or name, since the latter two can cross many games and players, thus causing your search to time out. The GUID should be unique to the player unless his CD-Key has been leaked.
